Introduction to InfoMaster

This 2-day course is the starting point for anyone needing to utilize InfoMaster for water or wastewater asset performance modeling. Upon completion of this course participants will be able to use InfoMaster to effectively import, manage and organize asset databases in a GIS environment. Students will also be able to assess survey data, utilize capital improvement planning tools, log incidents, and create and distribute work orders. 


This is a 2-day hands-on computer training course.

Teaching Method

Participants are guided through a series of practicals by computer hands-on training.


A basic understanding of computers is required. Some familiarity with GIS and Microsoft Office programs would be advantageous although not essential. Understanding of sewer and water networks would also be helpful although not a requirement.

Course Agenda

The InfoMaster Project – Creating a system database and a project database which makes up the InfoMaster Project. Opening and logging into an existing project and exploring the InfoMaster interface.

Importing and Editing External Data – Importing facility and CCTV data as well as using the CCTV Analysis Wizard tool. Complete review of all the tools for adding and editing data in the variety of data editing views available in InfoMaster. Associating and accessing external image and video files with InfoMaster Network Objects.

Inferring and Validating Data – Using InfoMaster’s inference tools for populating missing values. Utilizing powerful validating tools for QA/QC. 

InfoMaster Tools – Utilizing CapPlan tools to assess Consequences and Likelihoods of Failure for Capital Improvement Planning.  Advanced reporting and graphing results as well as querying.  Logging incidents and employing InfoMaster’s Work Order Manager.
